Rebar Scanning
Bi-TAS provides rebar scanning to investigate reinforcement within existing concrete. EM/Ferroscan and GPR techniques help the project team gather reinforcement information while limiting intrusive works.
Locate reinforcement before work starts
Rebar surveys can support drilling and cutting avoidance, refurbishment planning and structural assessment. We agree whether you need marked positions on site, sample survey areas or recorded findings for your engineer.
Choose the right scanning approach
EM/Ferroscan and GPR provide different types of survey information. We select and, where appropriate, combine methods to investigate bar positions, spacing and cover. Estimates of bar size or depth depend on the technique and survey conditions and may need intrusive verification.
Clear reporting and limitations
Dense reinforcement, overlapping bars, access and the condition of the concrete can affect interpretation. We record the agreed findings and relevant limitations rather than presenting scanning as a guarantee of every embedded feature.
Arrange a reinforcement survey
Share the site location, drawings, concrete element and the purpose of the survey. We can coordinate rebar scanning with concrete testing, coring or a wider structural investigation.
