Concrete Coring
Bi-TAS carries out concrete coring as part of targeted structural investigations. Where physical samples are needed, cores help establish concrete properties and provide material for laboratory testing.
Core sampling for structural assessment
An investigation may need concrete cores for compressive strength testing, material examination or confirmation of the construction. We agree the sampling purpose with the project team so locations and testing are suited to the questions your engineer needs answered.
Plan before drilling
Access, reinforcement and structural sensitivity all affect where a core can be taken. GPR concrete scanning or EM/Ferroscan rebar surveys can support the selection of sampling locations. Any drilling plan must also consider services, permissions and site-specific controls.
A coordinated investigation
We aim to keep sampling proportionate and disruption controlled. The scope can include scanning, coring, laboratory coordination, records of sampling positions and reinstatement. Where analysis is required, we work with UKAS accredited laboratory partners.
Discuss your coring requirements
Send the site location, concrete element, access arrangements and required tests. Bi-TAS will discuss the investigation and provide a quotation based on the agreed scope.
